Categories

Adviser of the Year

This category is open to any adviser specialising in Agriculture. This could be a financial advisor, business advisor, arable advisor, livestock advisor or anything in between. Most importantly the judges are looking for an adviser who goes above and beyond for their clients.

Animal Health Provider of the Year

We are looking to recognise an Animal Health Provider who strives for excellence and offers an outstanding service.

Arable Farm of the Year – sponsored by SoilEssentials

This category will reward a Scottish Arable Farm which has a clear strategy for their arable enterprise and crop management. Most importantly we want to hear about a passion for Arable Farming and what steps have been taken to improve the business. This category is kindly partnered by AHDB.

Best Agroforestry Award

This category is looking to reward a project/partnership or initiative that brings together the Agriculture and Forestry industries.

Champion of Champions – sponsored by Virgin Money

This award is not open for general entry.
This award will be presented to one of the winners on the night of the awards ceremony. Decided by the head judges, they will award one of the event finalists with the overall Champion of Champions trophy.

Contractor of the Year – sponsored by New Holland

This category is open to any business or individual offering Agricultural Contracting services with a high standard of practical and technical knowhow. Do you go above and beyond for your customers, ensuring you exceed expectations and meet deadlines whilst providing accurate and cost-effective work.

Dairy Farm of the Year

We are looking for a Dairy Farm with a forward-thinking approach and which strives to excel within their field. If you know a dairy farm that is a shining example, then nominate them today.

Diversified Farm of the Year

Diversification is an opportunity to grow and develop your business and we want to learn about motivation and key drivers for your diversification. How has diversifying changed and improved your overall business, building on your farming roots? We look forward to hearing your story on how you have grown your brand and developed new skills.

Farming’s Future Award – sponsored by NFU Scotland

This category will recognise an individual under the age of 35. We are looking for those who champion the sector or have an unrivalled passion for agriculture. They should be an individual who strives to better themselves and their career through ongoing education or innovative ideas. We are looking for someone who will be the future of farming for years to come.

Machinery Dealer of the Year

We are looking to recognise a Machinery Dealer who has demonstrated outstanding performance while evidencing dedication and commitment to their customers. The Machinery Dealer’s primary business will be buying or selling of new or used farm equipment, or both.

Mixed Farm of the Year – sponsored by Thorntons

This award recognises a mixed farm which combines crops and livestock production. We want to hear from farms where complementary strategies are deployed to deliver an overall success for the farming enterprise while balancing productivity with environmental stewardship, contributing to the resilience and prosperity of the operation.

Scotch Beef Farm of the Year

Kindly partnered by QMS, this category will seek entries from Scotch Beef Enterprises who have an unrivalled enthusiasm for what they do. Judges are looking for a commitment to delivering a high standard of cattle management alongside a quality product.

Sheep Farm of the Year

Supported by QMS our judges are looking for a sheep farming enterprise that demonstrates a passion and enthusiasm to efficiently produce high quality animals while also keeping a keen eye on the market for the end product.

Supplier of the Year

We are looking to recognise a supplier to the Agriculture Sector who provides an unrivalled service and dedication to their customers.

Sustainable Farm of the Year

Sustainable farming is important, if not imperative, to creating a future for our next generation of farmers. We want to recognise those who are embracing sustainable practices while exploring new practices and ideas to support their goal of sustainability.

Unsung Hero of the Year

This award will be presented to any individual within Agriculture who has shown an unprecedented dedication to the sector. We are looking for those who champion the sector or have an unrivalled passion for agriculture. This is a chance to say thank you to those who have dedicated themselves to their work but without the expectation of an accolade.

Young Famer of the Year Award – sponsored by ATV Services

Showcasing the young farmer’s knowledge, practical skills and ingenuity, along with business acumen. After regional and finalist heats this award will be presented at The Scottish Agriculture Awards 2025. Entry is for SAYFC members only and is direct via info@sayfc.org.
