In just under a month, The Herald Scottish Family Business Breakfast Online, sponsored by Business Gateway, Clydesdale Bank, Family Business Solutions Ltd, Strathclyde Business School and T L Dallas, will be taking place via online event platform hop-in.
Hugh Lightbody, of Business Gateway said: “All businesses have faced a variety of challenges, whether that be around adapting operations, ensuring employee mental health and wellbeing, diversifying service lines or providing strong leadership.
“This event touches on all these themes and more and provides a forum for businesses to come together and share learning, which will be vital if we are to build back better after the crisis has passed.”
The business breakfast is free to attend for anyone in Scotland who runs or is part of a Family Business.
David Henderson, of Clydesdale Bank, said: “The change in our way of life during lockdown has been a stark reminder to us all of the importance of ‘family’ and ‘community’, and that it is only by facing into challenges together that we give ourselves the best chance of succeeding.
“We’ve also all learned to connect in different ways through technology, to keep in touch with colleagues, customers, and friends.
“The Family Business Breakfast will be great chance to recognise the best of all these elements, bringing the Scottish family business community together online to look forward to a brighter future for our businesses and economy.
“Clydesdale Bank are really proud to be able to play our part in making this happen.”
Billy Andrew, of Family Business Solutions, said: “The Family Business Breakfast is always a fantastic event, but I think this year’s is set to be even more interesting than normal, given the current climate.
“It’s a great opportunity to hear first-hand how some of Scotland’s best-known family run businesses have handled the recent crisis and their assessments for the future.”
Delegates will hear from leading family businesses such as Allied Vehicles, Arbikie Distillery, Top Drawer UK and many more. The event takes place on Tuesday, September 1 from 9.30am-11.30am.
