WE’RE delighted to be able to announce the launch of the inaugural East Lothian Courier Community Champion Awards – recognising the very best of everything about our wonderful county.

The aim of the awards is to reward and celebrate the people who make our communities the fantastic places that they are.

We can’t wait to welcome all our local heroes to Haddington’s Corn Exchange to thank them for all they do.

Courier Editor Robbie Scott said: “I’m absolutely delighted to launch our first ever Community Champion Awards, and I can’t wait to hear all the incredible and wonderful stories of people who do so much in our communities.

“Being able to stand up for our fantastic county and share the incredible achievements of so many people is a pleasure and a privilege.

“The last few years have been extremely challenging for many in East Lothian, but they have also seen the county show its incredible community spirit, as selfless individuals and groups have stepped up to help those less fortunate than themselves.

“These awards are all about celebrating these people, so please let us know who your community champions are so we can give them the recognition they deserve.”

We’re now asking you, our readers, to tell us about the unsung heroes who you believe deserve to be celebrated at our Community Champion Awards.

We’re aiming to celebrate our heroes in 11 categories – from everything from sport to music, business to charity – giving them a well-deserved moment in the limelight when their achievements can be celebrated by the whole county.

If you know someone you believe should be recognised at our Community Champion Awards night at the Corn Exchange on Thursday, May 30, please get in touch.

Go to our website newsquestscotlandevents.com/events/eastlothiancommchamp to nominate your community champions or give us a call for more information on 07702 807008.

The closing date for nominations is Thursday, March 28.
