Compere Mark Martin, who has worked in local radio for over 20 years, said: “It’s an honour to be taking part.
“It’s amazing to hear people’s stories. It’s really important to recognise these things in person, because things can get lost these days.

“It’s nice to bring a bit of sparkle and shine into people’s life, and give these people their moment in the spotlight. I also know the area well, and enjoy a trip to the High Street when I’m around.”
Attendees may recognise Mr Martin from when he presented the city’s popular fireworks display at Pittencrieff Park. He spent 16 years at Forth 1 and now presents a weekday show on Edinburgh’s Edge 1.
