Future of Glasgow City Living Property breakfast speakers announced

The line-up has been announced for The Future of Glasgow City Living Property Breakfast, which will take place on Wednesday, 30 April and tickets are now on sale.

The event, organised by The Herald, is a follow-up to this newspaper’s influential investigative series, ‘The Future of Glasgow’, which took an in-depth look at the issues facing Scotland’s largest city centre.

That series posed key questions about the challenges facing the city post-Covid, post the retail revolution and through changes to working patterns and commercial requirements. Now it is the turn of key experts in the fields of property, policy and investment to provide answers to those questions and to highlight the opportunities that also exist.

On the panel will be Donna Milton, managing director, Arneil Johnston, Scotland’s leading public sector housing consultancy, where her expertise includes the fields of asset management, housing strategy development and regeneration appraisal.

Joining her on the platform will be Marc Cairns, managing director, New Practice, an organisation that builds community, creative and cultural capital through placed-based projects grounded in social capital.

Together they will be debating the biggest issues facing Glasgow, exploring opportunities for growth and development and looking at how the property sector can play a vital part in the turnaround.

During the event Dr Rosemary Rich, a Policy and Research Officer at the TDS Group, a leading tenancy deposit and dispute resolution provider will present findings from the Voice of the Landlord research commissioned by SafeDeposits Scotland Charitable Trust.

Alan Partridge, Marketing Manager at SafeDeposits Scotland said “We are looking forward to The Future of Glasgow: City Living event, and are particularly pleased that the event will see the first presentation on findings from the SafeDeposits Scotland Charitable Trust Voice of the Landlord survey, following the release of the similar tenant survey findings in December.”

The event is open to anyone working in Scotland’s property, planning and policy sectors or who has a strong interest in seeing Glasgow city centre flourish as a vibrant, residential, commercial and retail destination and host for event day will be

Peter MacMahon, a political commentator, writer and consultant, who has for many years been at the heart of reporting on Scottish and UK politics.

He will introduce not just the speakers, but also chair the interactive panel discussions and participatory Q&A sessions during which the industry experts will share their insights and advice.

The Future of Glasgow: City Living is an opportunity to gain the knowledge and tools needed to navigate the fast-changing property market and to help shape Glasgow as a vibrant residential city.
