There is just two weeks to go until The Herald Property Awards for Scotland 2018 in association with SP Energy Networks.

This year’s event will take place on Thursday, September 27, 2018 at the DoubleTree by Hilton, Glasgow and amongst the 500 hundred property professionals set to attend will be those finalists anxiously waiting to discover if they have done enough to take home an award.

There are 15 categories this year including Best Luxury Home, Best Individual New Build or Small Development and Best Family Home as well as a number of awards aimed at teams in various roles throughout the industry who have demonstrated high levels of effectiveness and professionalism.

Since they were established more than a decade ago, The Herald Property Awards for Scotland have come to be recognised as the most prestigious accolades of their kind, thanks to the rigorous selection process that ensures that every single property entered is scrutinised on the ground by a team of judges, made up of some of the most experienced names in property in Scotland.

The Chairman is Andrew McFarlane, a consultant with DM Hall Chartered Surveyors, who said: “Amongst the numerous developments and build-sites that we visited this year were some fine examples of Scottish building at its very best.”

What those are, however, won’t be revealed until September 27 when details of the winners will be announced at the glittering awards ceremony, hosted by comedian and broadcaster, Des Clarke.

This annual dinner is now recognised as a significant networking event for the property industry and the awards themselves have helped to set new standards for building, highlighting innovative design, creative use of space, attention to detail and to the wider community in which the properties are placed, as well as recognising excellence in customer service to tenants and the buying public.

Tables at the event are selling out fast, but there’s still time to secure a place at the most important night of the year for the property industry in Scotland.

James McHugh, Director (Banking Division) – Scotland & Northern Ireland, Close Brothers Property Finance said: “As new sponsors of these awards we are looking forward to spending an evening in the company of some of Scotland’s best property developers and wish everyone luck for the night.”

And Karen Durnian from Lowther Homes, part of Wheatley Group, said: “Lowther Homes is proud to support this year’s Herald Property Awards. There is an amazing range of outstanding shortlisted entries in all the categories and we look forward to hearing the winners announced on the night.”

Calum Miller, Associate Director – new Homes, Rettie & Co said:“We are delighted to see so many top-quality developments being entered into this years’ awards. It’s a delight to sponsor this category and give recognition to such deserving projects and the teams involved,” while Paul Alexander, Head of BusinessDevelopment at Scottish Building Society said, ‘We’re looking forward to the awards and have been encouraged by the high standard of entries once again this year.’

For Phil Prentice, Chief Officer, Scotland’s Towns Partnership, the event will be a celebration of all that’s best about the property industry in Scotland, saying: “Congratulations to all the finalists of the Property Awards.  We are delighted to be sponsoring such an important event and I, for one, am really looking forward to celebrating the achievements of all the finalists and winners on the night.”
Gary Daw, Managing Director, Daw Signs and Fit Outs said: “Daw Signs and Fit Outs are looking forward to presenting the Best Show Home category. Presentation is so important, and it is our pleasure to give an award that is in recognition of that.”

Meanwhile Nicholas Scullion of Scullion LAW, said: “Excitement is growing as we move closer to the awards ceremony. It is sure to be a fantastic celebration of the property industry in Scotland, we are very much looking forward to it.”
