Arnold Clark is a family business, with strong family values at the heart of everything we do.
The story of the company began when Sir Arnold Clark left the Royal Air Force and used his demob money to buy a Morris Ten Four for £70. After restoring the car to its original condition, he sold it for a profit. From this first venture, Arnold Clark began to buy and sell cars. And from that one showroom in 1954, Arnold Clark has grown to become Europe’s largest independently owned car retailer, selling more than 300,000 cars a year with locations stretching from Elgin to Southampton. And we’re not done yet! Our aim is to grow, innovate and inspire while continuing to offer genuine value for money and provide customer service of the highest level. We also do more than just sell and service cars. From renting for a road trip to studying a new skill, and everything in between, we’ve got you covered, with our Car & Van Rental, Insurance Services, Coachbuilders, Alarm Engineering and GTG Training divisions.
Our employees are the core of our business and they have helped choose the values which define the company – Family, Communication, Progression, Recognition and Community. The aim has always been to create a culture in which everyone feels accepted and respected. We have won many awards for our work in promoting diversity within the automotive industry, actively working with organisations to increase representation within the LGBTQ+ community and to address the gender imbalance within the automotive industry as a whole.
At Arnold Clark, we are constantly striving to improve the communities in which we operate, providing support and sponsorship for charities, businesses and much more. Recently, we introduced the Arnold Clark Community Fund to help registered charities and local community groups who have been affected by the COVID-19 Pandemic. With the aim of helping approximately 500 organisations, we were overwhelmed with applications and more funding was made available to help nearly 3,000 organisations in need.
