The deadline for the Inspiring City Awards is fast approaching.

Nominations for those who continue to make Glasgow flourish are being sought as the deadline for entries for the Inspiring City Awards approaches.
There is just under two days for people and companies to be put forward for consideration into the Inspiring City Awards in association with PEOPLE MAKE GLASGOW.

Glasgow is FULL of inspiring individuals and organisations and we want to hear from them.

Ross Wilson of Ross Wilson Public Relations who are supporting the Outstanding contribution by a Young Business Leader category said: “This is an unmissable opportunity to triumph in the Outstanding Contribution by a Young Business Leader category. Now is the time to tell us why you stand out from the crowd and why you have a brilliant business that shows the others how it should be done.”

The King’s and Theatre Royal are supporting the Innovation in Business category because they believe that pushing boundaries and going the extra mile are key to achieving fantastic results. Glasgow is already a thriving city with forward-thinking at its core and we want to recognise and reward the businesses, organisations and the individuals behind the city’s consistent development. You may have delivered improvements to a business process; developed a new product; improved levels efficiency; developed staff morale in the workplace or enhanced a local community. With only a few days left to enter, we want to hear from business game-changers that keep Glasgow at the forefront of innovation.

Stephen Flynn, Chairman of Glasgow Taxi’s added: “Teachers, lecturers and educators play a key role in ensuring our city and the people of Glasgow achieve their full potential and reach fantastic heights. By nominating an individual or institution, the people of Glasgow have been presented with the chance to salute the hard work and dedication of those in the education sector. Glasgow Taxis encourage you to get your entries in before Wednesday, July 18 to show your appreciation to those who have made a difference.”

Phil Goodman, Centre Director at Glasgow Fort said: “As sponsors of the Young Person category, the team at Glasgow Fort is keen to encourage people to make their nominations as soon as possible. Young people are the future of our great city so let’s recognise and develop the talent that so clearly exists out there!”

Hacking and Paterson Management are also encouraging entries and David Doran, Chief Executive added: “There’s still time to submit a nomination for this year’s Legacy Award. Anyone wishing to propose an individual or organisation is urged to do so before the deadline of 18th July to ensure that those who have contributed the most to the legacy of our great city can be recognised by these special awards.”

Mark Johnston, managing director of Glasgow Airport, said: “It is a real privilege for the airport to once again sponsor the Lifetime Achievement category. This award recognises an individual who has gone above and beyond to further enhance Glasgow’s standing as a truly world class city. We all have a role to play in creating the right image for our city and The Inspiring City Awards are a fantastic way of giving credit to those individuals and organisations who make Glasgow such a fantastic place to live, work and invest. I would encourage people to submit an entry and ensure their colleague, friend or employer receives the credit they deserve.”

Alison McRae, Senior Director, Glasgow Chamber of Commerce said: “The Developing Young Workforce Glasgow Industry and Young People Innovation Award is an opportunity for businesses to profile the work they have been doing to support young people across the city. Working with industry to create interesting and relevant opportunities for young people is at the heart of DYW. We would like to see applications from businesses that believe they have gone the extra mile in developing the workforce for the future.”
