COMPETITION for this year’s Heraldfashion.co.uk Awards is hotting up as the deadline for entries is fast approaching.

Run in association with Zero Waste Scotland, Love Your Clothes, the gala awards ceremony for top online fashion businesses for Scotland will take place on Sunday, November 15 and the judges are looking for only the best in each category.
A new addition to the judging panel is David Breckenridge, chief executive of Scottish Textile and Leather Association. He said: “I am delighted to have been asked to be a member of the judging panel for this great event.”

Fellow judge, Maurice Golden, who is representing the Love Your Clothes campaign, part of Zero Waste Scotland, said: “I’m delighted to be judging these awards, as fashion and shopping are constantly evolving and sustainability is becoming ever-more important.”

New sponsor McGarry Fashion, is supporting the Online Scottish Retailer of the Year category which recognises the top fashion retailers who have the wow factor.

Andrew McGarry, managing director said “We are delighted to support this event which will showcase how digital innovation is empowering Scottish business and creativity.”

Title partner, Love Your Clothes, is encouraging entrants to think about sustainable fashion strategies and Lynn Wilson, from Zero Waste Scotland said: “The online awards showcase the best of Scotland’s thriving fashion scene. It is a great opportunity for the innovative, dedicated and creative professionals who are driving the industry forward to be recognised.”

Bridge 2 Business is sponsoring the Online Fashion Graduate of the Year category. Brian McEwan, progamme manager said: “If you graduated from college or university on or before summer 2014, you are eligible for The Scottish Online Fashion Graduate of the Year Award.

“This category is for a recent graduate involved in the fashion industry in any number of ways: you could be a blogger, designer, retailer or trader. The Herald Fashion Awards are a great place to showcase your online, fashion and business expertise. Just to be nominated would really put the Graduate on the road to style stardom.

House of Fraser is sponsoring the Blogger of the year award.  Lynne Herlihy, store manager, House of Fraser Glasgow, said: “The Herald Fashion Awards are a true celebration of the best Scotland has to offer in the online fashion world, and our bloggers are at the very epicentre of that world. We want to celebrate the importance of that creative hub and to highlight the crucial impact and relevance bloggers can have on the retail sector.”

The official drinks sponsor for the event is Menabrea Birra and Alasdair Bayne, the firm’s marketing manager said: “With 12 gold medals from World Beer championships we know the delight, excitement and benefits that can come from pitting the results of your craft against those of your peers;  so not only are we delighted to lend our support to the awards but we would encourage as many quality organisations as possible to enter.”

Mtc. is sponsoring the Best Online Newcomer award and its business development director, David Rankine, said: “Entering the Herald Fashion Awards is a great way to showcase your online business to the wider public and highlight what made your business stand out from the crowd.  Let’s also not forget that all important seal of approval from industry”.

Entry to the awards is free, while tickets to the ceremony cost £60.
