Community Champions Awards 2025: Last chance for nominations

There are just days left to nominate local heroes for this year’s Dunfermline Press and Central Fife Times Community Champions Awards 2025 in association with Vertu.

Nominations close this Friday, April 18, for the event which is being held in association with Vertu.

This is your chance to highlight and celebrate our local heroes by putting them forward for this year’s awards, which recognise the best of West and Central Fife.

Last year around 250 people gathered at Dunfermline’s Glen Pavilion for the event where the amazing work, effort and success of those living in our communities was recognised.

An array of people from the worlds of charity, business, sort, music, education and everyday life pick up awards for their outstanding endeavours.

Winners included Highland Dance teacher Natalie McLauchlan as champion teacher of the year, Little Shop of Heroes for the entrepreneurial award, Diamond Disco for the health and care award, while Lesley-Ann Chessor, and the late Hanniffia McGrath, won the heart of gold award.

There’s still time to get your nominations by going online here: https://www.dunfermlinepress.com/community-champions.

The sponsors of this year’s awards are Vertu and Stagecoach.

Robert Forrester, chief executive of Vertu Motors plc, said: “Vertu is delighted to be a Title Partner of the 2025 Dunfermline Community Champion Awards, to celebrate the many worthy individuals who do so much to support their community – a community in which we are very proud to share with our local dealerships in Fife.

“Formerly Macklin Motors, part of the Vertu group, we recently rebranded to Vertu – but our commitment to helping our communities, providing exceptional service and customer satisfaction remains stronger than ever.

“We’d like to honour the dedication and passion of the charities and people making a real difference, and very much look forward to the awards in June.”

Douglas Robertson, managing director for Stagecoach East Scotland, added: “We’re delighted to be sponsoring the Dunfermline Press Community Champion Awards once again, and we look forward to celebrating all the amazing people who go above and beyond to support our local community.

“As a major employer in Dunfermline and across East Scotland, our team support communities every day, so it’s important for us to recognise the community champions in our area.”

Dunfermline Press and Central Fife Times Editor Scott McCartney said: “Time’s almost up to get your nominations in. We all know someone who just goes the extra mile for others and who works so hard to make their community a better place.

“These are the people who remind us just what the word ‘community’ means, and we want to recognise as many of our local heroes as we can.

“In tough times like these it’s heart warming to hear so many positive stories about inspiring people who can bring a little sunshine into the lives of those round about them.

“Now is the time to make sure they get the recognition they deserve, so get those nominations in.”
