THE finalists for this year’s Dunfermline Press and Central Fife Times Community Champion Awards in association with Vertu can now be revealed.
A panel of judges gathered for the difficult task of drawing up a shortlist for each award category from a record number of nominations sent in from across the West and Central Fife areas.
We were overwhelmed with the amazing number of nominations for inspirational, caring and generous people who have done so much for others.

With so many entries, the task of choosing our finalists was a difficult one.
That task was undertaken this year by our panel of Scott McCartney, editor of the Dunfermline Press and Central Fife Times, Gillian Taylor from the Carnegie Dunfermline and Hero Fund Trust, Fife Voluntary Action’s Cat Cockburn, Fraser Simpson from Police Scotland, Councillor Gordon Pryde from Fife Council, Carly Bowen – from Bowen Fluid Engineering and Sarah Elliot from Stagecoach.

Dunfermline Press and Central Fife Times editor Scott McCartney said: “I’d like to thank all of our dedicated judges for taking the time to help us highlight the real heroes in our community.
“Given the amount of good work being done across West and Central Fife, our panel had a really tough task in picking out the finalists for this year’s event, so we really appreciate their efforts.
