HOST

Jennifer Reoch
Here’s what one of our 2019 finalists had to say:
We had a fantastic time at the Herald Scottish Family Business Awards in December 2018. The event was very well organised and executed, and provided a great forum to showcase the many excellent family businesses across Scotland who made the awards shortlist. Our team particularly enjoyed seeing and hearing the profiles of the finalists, which were expertly delivered by the host, Carol Smillie. It was a great night, made even better by the fact that we achieved the Customer Service Excellence award on the night.

FAQ
Anyone can submit a nomination, but they must be based in Scotland and a Family Business. For the purposes of the awards The Herald Family Business Awards judging panel review the below statement as a basis on what constitutes a family business
“A family business is a business governed and/or managed by members of the same family (or a small number of families) with the intention of shaping and pursuing the vision of the business in a manner that is potentially sustainable across generations of the family (or families)”
Not only does being shortlisted (or better yet, winning) a Family Business Award mean recognition for you or your organisation, it is a major morale boost for you or your workforce and is a great PR opportunity both at the event and long after.
You must complete our entry form to submit a nomination. Head to the ‘How to Enter’ section above for instructions.
You can submit as many nominations as you like across the different categories. The categories and the criteria for each can be found in the ‘Categories’ section above.
Entries are now closed for 2019. If you would like information on how to enter in 2020 please email nina.holmes@newsquest.co.uk.
Entry fee is £60 + VAT (£72) per award submission and must be paid upon entering.
Tickets to attend the ceremony are priced at £110 +VAT with tables of 10 and 12 available at a cost of £1,100 +VAT and £1,250 +VAT respectively (booking fees apply).
Once you have submitted an entry, we will add your nomination to the judging pack for consideration. Once the judging has taken place, we will contact you to let you know if your entry has been shortlisted or not.
All the entries we receive will be considered by our judging panel at the judging session in November. Please note that the shortlist and winners are decided solely by our panel and do not come down to a public vote or number of nominations received.
The shortlist will be listed in The Herald and on this website at the beginning of November.
The winners will be announced at our glittering awards ceremony on Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Glasgow. More information on the event and tickets can be found in the ‘The Awards Ceremony’ section.
