THE search is on for the companies and individuals who are leading the way in the online fashion market as The Herald launches its second awards ceremony for the sector.

The heraldfashion.co.uk awards, in association with Zero Waste Scotland, Love Your Clothes, will recognise retailers, designers and bloggers across 12 categories, including Best Fashion Twitterati, Luxury Online Boutique of the Year, and a new category – Best Sustainable Online Business.

Iain Gulland, chief executive of Zero Waste Scotland, which runs the Love Your Clothes campaign, said the event was a “great opportunity to highlight the importance of both designers and consumers making sustainable choices when it comes to clothing”.

He said: “Everyone can help reduce the impact that clothes have on the environment by buying or designing garments that last, looking after them, upcycling old clothes and recycling or passing on what they no longer want to keep, and we’re delighted to be teaming up with The Herald to shout about sustainability and fashion in Scotland.”

Craft beer Menabrea Birra are the official drinks sponsor for the event.

Alasdair Bayne, marketing manager of the firm, said: “We like to think the Menabrea name is synonymous with quality and craftsmanship so it makes perfect sense for the brand to lend its support to the Scottish fashion industry.”

Bridge 2 Business will be sponsoring the Scottish Online Fashion Graduate of the Year award.

Geoff Leask, chief executive of Young Enterprise Scotland said: “We are delighted to sponsor this award, recognising the creativity and entrepreneurial skills of some of the most talented young fashion designers in Scotland.”

Leading web developer mtc will be sponsoring the Best Online Newcomer category. David Rankine, business development director, said: “As Scotland’s leading eCommerce web developer, mtc are proud to be sponsoring the award of ‘Best Online Newcomer’ at this year’s awards.”

Another new sponsor for this year is House of Fraser, for Blogger of the Year. Lynne Herlihy, store manager at House of Fraser Glasgow, said the shop has a “long-standing” relationship with the fashion and editorial team at the Herald”. We are excited to be involved in this year’s awards,” she said.
The awards will be presented at a black tie dinner, hosted by Janice Forsyth at the Grand Central Hotel, Glasgow on Sunday, November 15, 2015. The event will also include a fashion show, sponsored by Scotland Re:Designed and Colours Modelling Agency. The guest speaker for the evening is Founding partner of Do Lectures, innovation and change consultant Mark Shayler.

The entry deadline is Thursday, September 17, 2015. It is free to enter any number of categories.

Tickets to the event cost £60 plus VAT and a table of 10 is available for £600 plus VAT.
