Celebrate Excellence in Scottish Agriculture this October

The Scottish Farmer, celebrating its 130th anniversary, AgriScot and Royal Highland and Agricultural Society of Scotland (RHASS) are proud to highlight another set of categories as part of Scottish Agriculture Awards.

We want to hear from you who should be recognised at our inaugural awards and celebrate the very best in our Scottish Agricultural Sector.

The awards are set to be a prestigious celebration of the best in Scottish agriculture, recognising excellence and innovation across a broad range of categories.

The glittering ceremony will be held in the Crown Plaza Hotel near the SECC in Glasgow on October 26.

The awards aim to showcase the outstanding work of farmers, agricultural individuals and businesses who are driving the industry forward and ensuring the sustainability and success of Scottish agriculture – often through challenging circumstances.

• Adviser of the Year

This category is open to any adviser specialising in Agriculture. This could be a financial advisor, business advisor, arable advisor, livestock advisor or anything in between. Most importantly the judges are looking for an adviser who goes above and beyond for their clients.

• Agricultural Employee of the Year

Our employees are an integral part of agriculture in their role to support the raising of livestock, use of machinery in addition to planting and harvesting crops. We want to recognise those who are an invaluable member of the team.

• Animal Health Provider of the Year

We are looking to recognise an Animal Health Provider who strives for excellence and offers outstanding service.

• Best Agroforestry sponsored by Field & Forest

This category is looking to reward a project/partnership or initiative that brings together the Agriculture and Forestry industries.

• Contractor of the Year

This category is open to any business or individual offering Agricultural Contracting services.

Robert Neill AgriScot Chairman spoke about the importance of the awards. He said: “The agricultural and rural sector is driven by inspiring and progressive individuals and businesses, who work to ensure our sector remains at the forefront of sustainable food production.

“We must acknowledge and celebrate their successes, so as an industry we can learn from each other, and continue to raise the profile of Scottish agriculture.

“That is why I am delighted that the Agri Awards include categories such as “Adviser of the Year” and “Agricultural Employee of the Year”, so we recognise these unsung heroes.”

The deadline for these categories is Thursday August 31.

It is free to enter and those shortlisted will also receive two complimentary tickets to attend the awards ceremony.
