THERE is still time to enter the most prestigious awards for the Scottish legal sector.
Now in their 14th year, the Law Awards of Scotland, run by The Herald in association with HR Consultancy, and supported by Stirling Park, the Law Society of Scotland, McKinstry Practice Management and Allied Scotland Surveyors, recognise the high quality of work carried out by the leading lights of the country’s legal scene. Firms and solicitors have until October 3 to make their case for awards such as the High Street Firm, Solicitor and Corporate Team of the Year
The awards will be presented at a gala dinner at Glasgow’s Hilton Hotel on November 30.
Hilary Roberts, chief executive of HR Consultancy, said: “We are delighted to recognise so many law firms who are absolutely knocking it out of the park in terms of standard of service and vision. The awards give those of us who liaise regularly with the market the chance to applaud all of the hard work accomplished day in, day out.”
Ian Thomson, managing director of Allied Scotland Surveyors, said: “The Real Estate Team of the Year represents a specialist service within the wider legal industry and we would like to see the best of the best rewarded for their considerable efforts throughout the year.”
Graeme McKinstry, managing director of McKinstry Practice, said: “The outstanding contribution award is a unique accolade to the lawyer whom the judges will consider has offered something that bit special and differs them from the field.”
Ronnie Murison, director of Sheriff Office Services at Stirling Park, added: “We would urge individual candidates or legal firms to nominate themselves for their category of the Law Awards and the judges will select their winners in recognition of their hard work and achievements throughout 2017.”
Graham Matthews, president of the Law Society of Scotland: “The quality of our legal profession deserves to be seen as one of our proudest exports. We are delighted to support the Global Law Firm of the Year award and to recognise and celebrate excellence in international law firms.”
