THE entry deadline for this year’s Herald Scottish Family Business Awards in association with Business Gateway has been extended as we canvass the country to celebrate the diverse, dynamic and innovative family business sector, and the contribution which these firms make to the communities in which they operate and to the wider economy.
We are celebrating the twelfth year of the awards and we are looking to recognise not only the achievements of businesses but also of those individuals working hard to make their family business a success.
The awards, supported by Burness Paull, Clydesdale Bank, Campbell Dallas, Craig Corporate, TL Dallas, STAND, Supplier Development Programme and Strathclyde Business School, take place on Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Glasgow, with entries now open until Thursday, October 24, 2019.

These awards provide not only a valuable opportunity to celebrate their successes but also help shine a light on the people whose hard work lies at the very heart of our communities right across Scotland.”
John Anderson, Strathclyde Business School, said: “The Herald Scottish Family Business Awards Dinner is the highlight of the year for Scotland’s real wealth creators. With the top 100 family businesses in Scotland generating £20 billion in annual revenues and supporting over 110,000 jobs, the awards provide a fantastic opportunity to showcase the best of Scotland’s family businesses and celebrate the impact of this important, and often neglected, part of the Scottish economy.”
Maggie Croft, Managing Director at Stand, said: “With the environment and green issues dominating the headlines at the moment, it’s really important for all businesses to take sustainability very seriously. A company’s green credentials are now an integral part of how any company conducts its day to day business and how it is ultimately perceived by customers and staff alike, so we would encourage all family owned businesses to shout about what they are doing in that area as part of this year’s Family Business Awards.”
