Due to the current climate the 2020 Dunfermline Press Awards have been postponed to 2021. The safety of our staff, guests, sponsors and suppliers is the number one priority and with the ongoing situation continuing to change, this proves difficult for planning live events and with social distancing measures looking to be put in place for the remainder of the year, the nature of this event would make this difficult to observe.
We know there are some fantastic stories of the community coming together throughout this time therefore have decided to keep our entries live so you can continue to share your stories. For those people who have already nominated a person, club or group for an award in one of our categories, all existing entries will be taken forward to next year.
Simon Harris, Editor of Dunfermline Press said:  “The Community Champions Awards are without doubt the highlight of the year for everyone involved with the Dunfermline Press.

“It is always such a special evening and because it is so special to us, we want to take good care of it and everyone who comes along on the night and supports our awards.

“Under the current circumstances, it is with some sadness that we have decided not to hold our Press Community Champions Awards in 2020 as, in common with many other events scheduled across Scotland later this year, it is simply not possible for us to host the event as it has become known and loved, given continuing restrictions on social distancing.

“We plan to be back next year and, in the meantime, please continue to nominate your community champions from Dunfermline and West Fife.

“Our awards are about honouring and celebrating the unsung heroes who go the extra mile to help their community. In these unprecedented times, it is has been our privilege to report on so many of these heroes over the past few weeks and we can’t wait to give them the recognition they so richly deserve at our awards ceremony next year.

“See you at the Dunfermline Press Community Champions Award 2021. Stay safe.”
