COMEDIAN Fred MacAulay as been unveiled as the host of the 2018 Law Awards of Scotland, which will take place in Glasgow’s Hilton Hotel on Thursday November 29.

The awards are organised by The Herald and supported by sponsors HRC Recruitment, McKinstry Practice Management, The Law Society of Scotland, and Stirling Park.

HRC Recruitment chief executive Hilary Roberts said: “The Law Awards of Scotland is a highlight in the legal calendar and we are delighted to be sponsoring the event again this year.

“We love the opportunity to meet the finalists on the night and – of course – the unveiling of the results.

“It’s a cliché, but it’s such an achievement even to be nominated. The standard in the room will be so high.”

More than 300 guests will be in attendance on the evening, celebrating the legal sector in Scotland.

Ronnie Murison, director of sheriff officer services at Stirling Park, added: “The Law Awards is not only a great event but a fantastic showcase for the legal sector, which I am looking forward to.”

The awards celebrate individuals, teams and firms, with categories open to in-house lawyers, advocates and legal organisations as well as local, national and international law firms.
