Its almost deadline day…

Scotland’s legal firms still have time to enter the Law Awards of Scotland, but the deadline is just one week away.

Now in its 12th year, the prestigious awards are being organised by The Herald for the first time, in association with HR Consultancy and supported by Stirling Park, Law Society of Scotland and McKinstry Practice Management,

With the deadline of October 11 fast approaching, we are encouraging Scotland’s law firms to showcase their latest work across an array of categories, which include, CSR Firm of the Year, Support Team of the Year and In-House Legal Team of the Year.

Winners will be announced at the 2016 gala dinner on November 24 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Glasgow.

Hilary Roberts, managing director of HR Consultancy said: “There are many successful law firms operating at the top of their game in Scotland and we are delighted to be helping recognise their hard work and vision. In our view what really makes a company stand out against its competitors is the importance it places on sourcing and retaining talent. Those who recognise the importance of it find people who are happy at work and deliver above and beyond expectation.”

Ronnie J Murison, director of Sheriff Officer Services, Stirling Park,  said: “ We would urge candidates to nominate themselves for the relevant categories of the Law Awards and the Judges will select their winners in recognition of their hard work and achievements throughout 2016”.

Graeme McKinstry, director, McKinstry Practice Management, said: “The Lifetime Achievement Award at the Scottish Law Awards in November is truly a unique recognition and celebration of a lawyer who has made an outstanding contribution and will be chosen by a prestigious and knowledgeable panel of judges. You may have a partner or opposed a protagonist or appeared before someone of outstanding talent so don’t delay in making your nomination to avoid the best candidate being overlooked “

Graham Matthews, vice president of the Law Society of Scotland: “The Law Society of Scotland is the professional body for Scotland’s 11,000 solicitors. The quality of our legal profession deserves to be seen as one of our proudest exports. The skills and experience of Scottish solicitors help drive business deals at home and abroad and our members deservedly have a strong international reputation in arbitration, commercial and constitutional law. We are delighted to support the Global Law Firm of the Year award and to recognise and celebrate excellence in international law firms”.
